BTL Partner Recognition Program: April 2010

Business Treading Lightly is a program of the Southern Councils Group and Eurobodalla Shire Council and supports local businesses to be more sustainable. The new scheme aims to recognize some of the achievements participating businesses have made in being more sustainable.

The Village Centre and Bridge Plaza Batemans Bay owned by Local Government Super, and managed by Savills, proudly received their plaque, complete with 6 cogs of achievement, presented by the Mayor Fergus Thompson.

The six cogs represent,

  • Commitment - you have partnered BTL/and or Gumnuts and have an action plan
  • Measurement - you have your baseline data in water, energy or waste - or all three, and send updated data through to BTL at least once in the program
  • Communicate - You can demonstrate you have planned and sustained communication about sustainability with staff, customers and/or suppliers.
  • 5% Savings - you have verified 5% savings in waste, water or energy
  • 10% savings - you have verified 10% savings in waste, water or energy
  • Leadership - your business displays best practice or innovation and shares that information with your business sector, region or other business network.
