The Village Centre and Bridge Plaza shopping centres in Batemans Bay have recently partnered with Business Treading Lightly.
The success of the partnership has recently been recognized by the presentation of the highest award available to BTL partners.
Business Treading Lightly (BTL) has been developed to assist targeted businesses in the Illawarra and South Coast to reduce their ecological footprint by operating more sustainably.
This $2 million government-funded program works with local organisations to introduce environmentally innovative practices and help them save thousands of dollars in water, waste and energy costs.
Participation with BTL will ensure that the Village Centre is positioned to meet the challenges and opportunities of changing environmental conditions and legislative requirements. What’s more, during an age of increased community expectation about responsible environmental management, they will hope to become known as business leaders in sustainability performance.
Through their partnership with BTL, the Village Centre will be participating in the Sustainability Advantage program. In this program they will seek to incorporate sustainability into all aspects of their business.
